Beyond the Books Educational Foundation is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2011-2012 grant awards. There were a total of 76 applications submitted from District 87 and Unit 5 Schools. Of these, 45 were selected for funding. The total amount of all grants awarded was $27,495.
Beyond the Books Educational Foundation is a not-for-profit corporation whose goal is to provide a long-term, self-sustaining financial base to fund projects so students can experience innovative academic programs that go beyond normal tax support. Each spring teachers are encouraged to apply for the grants for the next school year. Since 1992, $366,566 has been awarded to support 542 projects.
