On October 31st, Bent schoolchildren visited various classrooms to learn more about where Spanish is spoken in the world.
In “Colombia” they learned about mola, an art form which is very much like what we call a collage using torn paper. In “Mexico”, they could learn about Mexican soccer stars and La Catrina. In “Spain”, visitors learned, some for the very first time, about Semana Santa, or Spain’s holy week.
Students researched and read about their topics in the weeks leading up to the event. The BTBEF grant helped supply materials and books for the school-wide project.
